Roseland 10 Veor 34
Encouraging Roseland performance…….
Roseland conquered by Veor…..again!
Roseland 6 Veor 22
Match report by T.O.G. Corners Nick Sylvester
Roseland’s run of defeats against Veor continued in last Saturday’s lunchtime fixture in cold but dry conditions with a keen cross wind. Inevitably the “going” was heavy -rugby’s equivalent to The Cheltenham Festival earlier in the week – such that it was never likely to be good for running rugby.
Veor hold off Roseland Challenge
Veor 27 – Roseland 13
On Saturday Roseland travelled to play fourth placed Veor. Roseland had been unfortunate enough to play the top 4 sides on consecutive weekends. However unperturbed by this Roseland travelled with confidence despite missing several regular starters.
Roseland Battle Valiantly
Veor 26 – Roseland 19
Roseland travelled down to third placed Veor on Saturday hoping to carry on with the good form that seen them beat Stithians the previous week.
For much of this encounter it was an even affair with Veor’s influential goal kicking scrum half probably proving the difference as he had a near faultless day with the boot including a monster 60m penalty on the stroke of half time.
Roseland 3 – Veor 22
Veor outmuscle Roseland
On a dry but breezy day Roseland entertained Veor in the Tribute Cornwall 1 league and were hoping to bounce back from last weeks disappointing defeat away to Helston.
Just a few hours before kick off a deluge of rain came down and saturated the playing surface so any hopes of a game of running rugby were put to bed. This was going to be 10 man rugby with the forwards battling it out and the backs seeing the ball very little.
Veor 58 – Roseland 0
Yet again, not as bad a performance as the score line suggests.
We started the game with just 14 men, including a rare cameo appearance from Chris Brown. 15 minutes in the missing players had found the ground and finally got changed. A couple of the Veor tries we came within inches of stopping in the first half, and it ended 34-0.
