Yet again, not as bad a performance as the score line suggests.
We started the game with just 14 men, including a rare cameo appearance from Chris Brown. 15 minutes in the missing players had found the ground and finally got changed. A couple of the Veor tries we came within inches of stopping in the first half, and it ended 34-0.
We started the second half very strongly – nearly scoring a couple of times, but nothing actually went over, and (if I remember well) we didn’t even get a penalty for Davo to put over. Full time saw 58-0 on the board.
Thank you to Veor for great hospitality after the game. And well done to Tam Varcoe and Christian Benbow for out classing the Veor men of the match – managing to down their pints and come back and be congratulated before either of the Veor players finished theirs!
WAGS and supporters note – Veor have a refreshment hut at the ground serving a very nice cup of tea, from proper mugs!
Next match looking like Friday 12th 7pm at Camborne Rec – precise details just awaiting confirmation from Bud and I’ll get that up on the site. Definitely no game on the 13th.
