Land’s End to John o’Groats – The 1saac Tour

Following the publication of the Sustrans 1,200 mile National Cycle Route from Land’s End to John o’Groats, which uses many low-traffic roads and traffic-free tracks, Chris Thomas and Andy Day decided to give it a go. They are raising money for their three chosen charities – the British Heart Foundation, UNICEF and the Cornwall Air Ambulance representing personal, global and local concerns.

The ride is sponsored by Pasco’s Boatyard, Rhos Construction and Skinner’s Brewery.

The trip started from Land’s End on September 23rd and is planned to finish at John o’Groats on October 15th. It is named the 1saac Tour which stands for One Septuagenarian (Chris, the bearded one) And A Carer (Andy, the grey one)!

Both are ex-rugby players who are heavily involved with their local club, Roseland RFC, and the venture is organised in the name of the club.
