Roseland welcomed Park to Philleigh on a blustery but dry afternoon whereby a very strong crosswind was always going to be significant factor. With the season’s first win still proving to be elusive, the home side were looking for a marked improvement on recent performances if to be successful.
Roseland complete “double” over Park…..
Roseland 21 Illogan Park 17
Report by T.O.G Corners Nick Sylvester.
Roseland leapfrogged Illogan Park into fifth position in the league following last Saturday’s clash at Philleigh in a wholehearted contest played in appalling conditions. Steady rain on an already saturated pitch together with a cold albeit relatively gentle north easterly breeze tested both players and spectators alike.
Roseland Scrape Victory
Illogan Park 11 – Roseland 13
On Saturday afternoon all the rugby talk was of the impending clash between England and Wales at Twickenham but their were far more pressing matters at hand before that trivial clash. The big game on Saturday was Roseland versus Illogan Park at Illogan.
Illogan Park 65 – Roseland 17
An exciting game on Saturday, but Illogan came away with the win.
However, we did score 3 solid tries – well done to Tom Day, Nathan Chapman and Shaun Eamer.
That was the last league game… and we have finished last in the league.
But there’s still the Cup to come! (more info coming VERY soon).
Roseland 16 – Illogan Park 26
We didn’t get the league off to the best of starts with a home defeat to Illogan Park.
But there were some good passages of play – so let’s take those into our next league game – Saturday at Newquay Hornets.
