A fantastic night out in Penzance yesterday – with the Cornish Clubs XV putting in an impressive performance against the Pirates. Final score 69-0 to the Pirates.
Roseland player Nathan Chapman played the full 80, and you can read the Pirates report here. Within the Pirates team (and pictured below with Nathan) was Roseland local – Jack Andrew:

Cheap ticket deal on Pirate FM
Pirate FM have a ticket deal on the go where you can get a “Family” ticket for £16.
That’s a ticket for 2 adults and 2 children – doesn’t say that you have to take children anywhere!! So that’s 2 adults for £8 each – much better than the £15 on the door price.

It might still be August – but the new season starts on Tuesday for Roseland RFC. It’s going to be a busy week…
First match of the year is a friendly with St Austell 2nds on Tuesday 27th, Kick off at 7pm (or possibly 6.30pm – tbc!).
Saturday then sees our first ‘real’ game of the season – a Cup game against Liskeard-Looe.
Both are home games – so please do come along and support the team.
As if all that wasn’t enough, Nathan Chapman has been selected to Captain the Cornwall Clubs XV who are taking on the Cornish Pirates on Friday 30th August, KO 7.30pm.

For one Roseland player the season’s going to get off to very exciting start – Nathan Chapman has been selected to Captain the Cornish Clubs XV against the Cornish Pirates for the opening match of their Festival of Rugby!
A huge honour for both Nathan and the whole club. Hopefully lots of us will be able to make it down to Penzance for the game (full details here). Full team listing below. As part of the experience there’ll be coaching from Benji Thomas, Gavin Cattle and Alan Paver. The Cornish Clubs XV will be provided with a specially designed shirt, displaying the image of Cornwall made up from the names of all the clubs, whilst wearing their club shorts and socks (Barbarians-style).
