Roseland Loose at Helston

On Saturday 27th October Roseland travelled to Helston for their second league game of the season.

Both sides had suffered defeats in their opening league games. Helston had the better of the first half and held a 19-0 half time advantage after scoring 3 tries and converting two.

Roseland created chances in the first half but little errors when in the 22 prevented any scores, they also had to contend with playing against a strong breeze.

In the second half Roseland were much improved and kept Helston pinned back in their own half with intelligent kicking. They scored a well deserved try via centre Joe Hitchings with fly half Tom Day concerting. Helston however struck back and scored another try of their own to seal the try scoring bonus point.

This also noted the ended of the scoring although both sides continued to play rugby and Roseland were determined to grab another score but it wasn’t to be.

The final score was 24-7. Roseland host Illogan on Saturday 3rd November searching for a first win of the season.
