Boxing Day at Home vs Truro this year

This year the annual boxing day game against Truro RFC will be played at Roseland’s Philleigh game.

Kick off is 12.30pm.

In addition to the usual festivities we’ll be taking advantage of the event to raise money for the Trust Fund that has been set up by Oakham RFC after the tragic death of their player Savenaca Koroibulileka (aka Tu) during a match earlier this year.

“The cause of his death, not being Rugby related, means that, unfortunately, there is no insurance pay-out from the RFU’s insurers. Tu, a great family man as well as a true Rugby man, leaves behind a widow and 4 young sons – all of whom, sadly, were watching the game. We have now been able to set up a Trust Fund to help his family until the boys, one by one, have reached the age of 18. All donations, whatever the size, will be gratefully received and faithfully applied.
In anticipation I will thank you for your support in whatever form it comes.
Yours in Rugby, Steve Beanland, President ORFC

All proceeds from the ground collection, and meat raffle will be donated.

Plus, we’ll be running a bar at the pitch during the game from which all takings will also be donated.
