Roseland Come Unstuck in the Mud

Roseland 0 – Liskard-Looe 44

Saturday saw Roseland entertain league leaders Liskard-Looe at Philleigh.
The match was played in some of the worst conditions seen for a long time.
The pitch held up remarkably well though given the amount of rain that has fallen recently.
At the end of the game all the players trudged off the pitch four stone heavier than the start with the extra mud and water in their kit.

Roseland Battle Hard

Roseland 3 – Liskard-Looe 63

On Saturday afternoon Roseland welcomed Liskard Looe to Philleigh for the first home game of the 2017/18 season.

Roseland had a long list of players unavailable via injury and other commitments. Nearly as many were unavailable as were available. The squad of players that took to the field put in a 110% shift though and unfortunately the score line didn’t really do the players justice.

Roseland 3 – Liskeard-Looe 36

The Roseland team performed very strongly against league leaders Liskeard-Looe.

Strong attacking and some very solid defence meant at half time the score was 3-8.

Unfortunately at the start of the second half we lost no. 8 Nathan Chapman to the sin bin for 10 minutes. But overall a performance far ahead of the start of the season.

Roll on Helston next weekend.

Liskeard-Looe 68 – Roseland 0

Liskeard-Looe really came up with the goods on Saturday.

Some strong defending (especially Starky’s flying tackles) stopped the score getting any higher, but we didn’t manage to get any points on the board.

Roll on next weekend and Helston.

Roseland vs Liskeard-Looe: 5-44

At kick off Roseland had a strong first 20 minutes, but Liskeard-Looe quickly took the lead. In the second half, Sam Glanville scored our only try.

That might all mean we’re out of the cup – but there should be some friendlies organised for the next few weekends. Keep an eye on the website for more details, or enter your email to the right to get updates:
